Micah's Blog 3

This week I met with Stephanie Santarosa and Ezra Johnson. Both interveiws were very product and almost lasted an hour. This was a victory for me. I brought in a bulleted list of things I was trying to achieve in the class and was looking for some feedback. I got grilled and hammered with questions. It was hard to answer some of them and a lot of them I answered with "I don't know yet." This felt like a loss to me. All together it was a great experience. I learned what I need to work on and what I have done really well. Here is a short list of what I will be working on now that my research seems close to where it should be.
  • Are the credits toward the major or minor, toward leadership or elective?
  • What would be an incentive for ARDs, RAs to help?
  • Class times- Different class sizes, class limit, different sections?
  • Can you take the class for a second year? What does that look like?
  • Who are the professors, what is their teaching load, how do we balance it?

These questions were the big questions that were thrown at me in the interviews. Although my answers for these questions were not great I left the meetings feeling like I was on the right path. My question for you guys is....is there any bulleted items that you could add to my list of things to look into?

  1. Maybe the role of the RD? Can they possibly teach something?

  2. I agree with becky, I feel like the RD's would be a really great potential candidate for teaching since they have been involved in res life so heavily.
